В последнем куплете повторяется одна и таже строчка, сначала на ломаном итальянском, затем на примитивном испанском, школьном французском и, наконец, на англосаксонском завсегдатая пабов, находящегося на каникулах в Европе. «Not Now John»— это единственная композиция из альбома, выпущенная в виде сингла, где хор исполняет в куплетах слова «Stuff All That» вместо грубого «Fuck All That». По этой причине запись иногда называют «приличной» или «завуалированной» версией. Сингл стал третьим по счету сюжетом в «Video E.P.», изображающим британских рабочих, которые, не подозревая о конкуренции со стороны Японии, тратили время впустую. Если Уотерс и предполагал какое-то другое толкование композиции, то большинству зрителей оно непонятно. Песня исполнялась Уотерсом во время турне «Radio KAOS» 1987 г.
